further on down the road

Still doggedly pressing buttons in VirtualDub, and anywhere else that can handle it. The reason for all this? I have 1000's of 'shorts' stuck in my head that I need to be able to convert and upload with haste.. haste being a good thing. And it's an ego thing..

Tuesday it is

So, still trialing VirtualDub, free, comprehensive, video capture and converter. Boring as it sounds it has become an obsession to record in something with more imagination that Logitech's bloatware.

a week in two parts

Lucky people.

Twice as much goodness for the same price. Is that a good deal or what?

Embarrassingly good deals, today only.

Oh, and, if you can't see the videos it is because you have a fucked browser. Your problem. I managed to view it in Firefox and Opera.

URL's :
1. the first one
2. the second one

a week in two parts

As advertised, the second transmission for the week. Stunning in it's scope, and variety.
Drink it in viewers, bathe in the glory.

An event unmatched in it's sheer daring. Can't view either video? Nor could we until we tried Firefox, and Opera. So, who's the bunny with IE6 still?
Go and get a real browser this instant.

"unwittingly enhanced" - hell yes miss silver shoes, enhanced indeed.

“No. Marion made mistakes. The pain and suffering she is about to endure in public is going to be devastating to her.”

Question is now, what part of you is real?
Goddamn, this woman might be white.!!

Lady, even if you are half man I still think you are a good look. Thing is though—can you run at all?

Any of you people manage to get any gold medals without drugs?

the day off

the best laid plans...
The thing about days off, is, I never manage to get anything done anyway.

Monday is a 'ride' day. Pedal away the depression from a weekend of work; this Monday being a 50 klm jaunt in some serious UV and heat. Brown arms, white hands. Bicycle arms. Somewhere between late Monday and anywhere on Tuesday the urge gets slimed.
All sorts of plans made for Tuesday, the designated 'day off'; the day where I follow up on all those interesting things I found on the net on Monday but was too busy to do anything with. A list, of course, will guide the day.

Somewhere between late Monday and anywhere on Tuesday the urge gets slimed.

Tuesday I find other things, nothing from the designated list, but other things, to waste time with. Instead of resolving the sound recording drama (Audition does not recognize USB microphones) I find out that the new image resizing algorithm that has just debuted is now available all over the web - from a donation ware stand alone, to an overpriced Photoshop plugin. Everyone getting on the bandwagon now, some managing to produce the app just for the pleasure of good code, and the inevitable opportunistic fellows following along closely.  Happens with all code—there has to be an element of greed.

I roadtested the donation ware 'Retarget' and found it to be all that it says on the box. Intelligent resizing is now a reality. Check it yourself.

You want to do it online and save all the hassle of paying for pugins, or dowmloading things? Go to and they will do it for you online. Rather a smart application I thought.

So, there I am, ignoring the 'list' because I have found new toys, getting further behind the plan for the day, still burdened by finding a decent application that will cop a USB microphone setup. You have to wonder what in hell went on with Audition that it doesn't support it. Audacity, free, will. Damn sure of it.

On the way to Audacity I call in at - the originator of the wonderful stand alone flv player, and a media player, MP3 player, all manner of things, and also the first person I know of to introduce the full screen option in Flash Player. You will have seen his work if you have ever visited Bliptv. Naturally there is gear there that I need. Download and playtime. Not on the list.

And it goes on. Until now, when I have given up hope of getting back on the 'list' and realized I can record through Quicktime in reasonable quality, without the one minute restriction imposed by Windows Recorder. The Audacity search and obtain mission is suspended. Should have it though, I am lucky I have Audition, they tell me, but I am ambivalent, I just want something to do the job.

Now, if I can just get off Barbelith I might manage to recover the day.
